“Sunscreen” used in the fabric blocks near-infrared (NIR) rays and ultraviolet (UV) rays. It blocks sunlight like a parasol.
Just by wearing it, the temperature inside the garment is controlled and a cooling function is demonstrated. The effect is said to be as much as -3°C. As a “wearable parasol,” it supports summer sports and active scenes.

Functional Material to Block the Harsh Summer Sun
The fabric features Sun Screen, which cuts near-infrared rays, the cause of the stinging heat.
This cooling function lowers the temperature inside the garment by up to 3°C. (Based on a heat shielding test according to the KAKEN method, comparing conventional DESCENTE products with Sun Screen. Actual temperature difference may vary depending on environmental conditions.) It also provides UV protection (UPF 15 or higher), reducing sunburn. This supports active scenes like summer sports.
